We are very proud to share that our CTO, Aránzazu Carmona-Orbezo, was a finalist for the AccelerateHER Awards 2022. She participated on a virtual final, where she pitched Parallel Carbon to a panel of judges comprised of three women leaders from Barclays and British Business Bank. It was an exciting event, full of great ideas and inspiring stories from 8 female founders across Wales, Northern England and Northern Ireland.

The AccelerateHER Awards, in partnership with Barclays Eagle Labs, celebrate women excelling in their sector. The awards aim to provide an opportunity for business women who have founded or cofounded their companies to raise their profile, gain access to leading investors and expand their network.
The awards are split across 5 regions in the UK: Wales, Northern Ireland, Northern England, Scotland and South England; with 4 categories in each region: MedTech and Science, FinTech and Cyber Security, CleanTech and Climate or Disruptive Innovation. This year, the Awards were also divided in 5 main regions: Parallel Carbon participated in the Northern England final, where Aránzazu competed against Jennie Johnson, from My First Five Years Ltd, and Olivia Governor, from the Student Bubble.
Participating in awards and competitions like AccelerateHER are a great opportunity to showcase what we are doing in Parallel Carbon and to network with inspiring people.
